South County Travel Softball
SCAA is pleased to announce our Tournament Softball Team. This travel program is designed to provide opportunities for advanced players ranging from 12U through 16U.
Our program focuses on multi-sport athletes because everyone should have the opportunity to play other sports and participate in various activities. We believe our kids need to be well-rounded individuals while still receiving outstanding coaching and training.
Our goal is to deliver the best experience through recreation softball, tournament softball, and All-Stars, as they continue to participate in other sports throughout the year.
As such, we value:
- A positive team environment that develops and challenges players and positions them to compete at a higher level than rec ball;
- A more flexible commitment at a more reasonable price point for families;
- A team that encourages players to pursue multiple sports/activities;
- Lasting friendships among teammates who serve as allies for each other on and off the field;
- Exposure to local high school coaches and players for development and mentorship.
We are focused on designing a schedule at a price point that will allow players the option to try out to make a travel tournament team and play recreational softball.
We highly encourage tournament players to play in our partner organization, South County Little League Recreation team.
Our travel teams can expect to practice one to two times per week with games and or practice on the weekends. While practices will likely occur at South County feeder schools, some light travel should be expected for games throughout Northern Virginia and Maryland. Games are usually played on weekends, with a few exceptions.
